My name is Haryo
Bagus Handoko, S.P (undergraduate degree in Agribusiness, alumni of
Brawijaya University - Malang, Indonesia). I was born in Malang, East
Java Province - Indonesia, in 10 June 1975, as a first son of
Hardjono,S.H. and Soelistijanti, BSc. Was born as traditional Javanese
Indonesian moslem male, I found myself enjoying reading very much ever
since I was a child and that inspiring me to write just about
everything. In fact, I like to learn everything as well as trying
something new. So I write many things : fiction, humor, science,
cuisine, gardening, as well as computer information technology. My
specialty is writing articles, but I am progressing in learning how to
write a book. That’s why I am joining Malang Writers Community Forum
Organization, named : "Forum Penulis Kota Malang", a local writers
community in Malang, a small town 90 km’s away from Surabaya, which is
the capital city of East Java Province. In this organization, I
participate and get involved as a webmaster as well as general
information voluntary care taker. I help to promote this writers
community organization to develop and gain more knowledge, writing
skills and get connected with many publishing companies in Indonesia as
well as many media in Indonesia.I like to read many things, from books
to any source from the internet. That’s why I also learn many things. I
like to read as much as writing. I also like to eat, and that’s why I
determent to try and put much effort to learn about how to cook and
make cookies, sweets and cakes. I also try to write many recipes and
try to send them to many cooking magazines in Indonesia. Even though
sometimes they rejected my recipes, but I never giving up. I still
writes more recipes as well as many fictions, love stories, science
fictions, kids stories, fairy tales and some computer tutorials which
fortunately has been published in some computer magazines as well as
computer tabloids. I also wrote about technology, the latest cutting
edge technologies that we could found around the globe. But,
unfortunately my writings (articles) is not accepted to be published in
Indonesian magazines. They said that my writings is too high tech and
most people in Indonesia still do not wish to learn and read about
technology, they said that most people in Indonesia usually like every
articles that related to entertainment news, gossips, disaster news,
easy and practical knowledge, cheap hobbies and something like that.
Well, I think that this nation should develop and try to like reading
about technology. Technology is civilization and to be civilized
people, you should learn more about technology, just to know a little
bit about it. At least you are no too stupid as a human. We are a great
nation, actually, but our worse habit is "laziness" and "not like
reading books". And that is the greatest disaster ever for this nation
!I am a "people person", because I like to make friends with any one. I
also like to learn foreign language as well as local language. I speak
bahasa Indonesia, as well as English, French, Javanese and Maduranese.
Well, I must admitted that my French language and my Maduranese
language rather terrible, but at least I am still learning and never
give up. "The more you speak languages, the more you could see the
world from many angles", that’s what my father said. So, ever since I
was in elementary school, I determent to learn English as my first
foreign language. Even though I am not the best in speaking in English,
but at least I could read, learn and communicate with people. Well, I
still want to learn as many as foreign language, but still I do not
have resources and do not have enough money to take language course.
Well, if someday I would be given the opportunity to learn foreign
language, the I wish to learn Spanish, Italian, Latin, Portuguese,
Russian, Swedish, Japanese, and Chinese language. I am so thirst,
thirst of science and knowledge ! But unfortunately, I am not rich
enough to take some lessons or courses . . . Well of course in this
life you could never get everything you want . . .I like traveling,
bicycling, picnics, sunbathing, reading, cooking, internet surfing,
watching TV and videos. Everyday I enjoying bicycling, and traveling by
bicycle around Malang. When it comes to holiday traveling (if I have
small sum of spare money), I am enjoying visiting some ancient
archeological places, like ancient temples and monuments. I also like
traveling to the beach, mountain, valley, forest and enjoying
sunbathing. Since there are lots of sunlight which warm and not to
"stinking hot" in Indonesia, I am so grateful that I could explore and
doing many outdoor activities. When the sunlight is not to hot, I
prefer doing some picnics in many places with my friends. Usually it
take place in the forest or mountain which are outstandingly rich of
beautiful and magnificent point of views. But if the weather are bad
and cloudy, I prefer indoor activities like reading, discussing about
new books that freshly launched and comes out in the book store, doing
some internet surfing, cooking and eating or watching TV and videos. I
also like to edit some videos that I download from free download sites
on the internet. I like to be creative ! Well, that’s me ! CREATIVE Man
that always wish to make something new, something creative . . .Every
Saturday and Sunday, many of my friends would get together and hang out
in library, discussing new books and any information about writings
activities, or at least watching "wide screen movies" at library, and I
am glad to be part of it. Well, there are not much to tell about my
activities, but in my spare time, I would so busy write about many
things and try to send many articles to many Indonesian magazines,
tabloids, and newspaper through e-mail, just to get small sum of money.
As you know, it’s not easy to get a job nor get some money in
Indonesia, that’s why you should keep your hands busy in writing many
articles just to struggle for living and get small sum of money from
writings. But I think writing is my life, and I like it a lot, because
it is a hobby as well as a career. Until today, I still learn how to be
a better and professional writer. I hope someday my writings will make
more money, fortune and could take me travel around the globe.
